PENGEMBANGAN MODERASI BERAGAMA BERBASIS NEUROSAINS PERSPEKTIF LIVING FATWA ULAMA MUHAMMADIYAH DI MASA COVID-19
Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has posed various challenges to society, particularly regarding beliefs and spirituality. Restrictions and closures of places of worship, such as musholla and mosques, as part of lockdown policies, have raised different concerns among the public, including the notion of "being more afraid of hell than Covid-19." This study aims to develop a moderate religious attitude based on neuroscience through the perspective of living fatwas by Muhammadiyah scholars during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research approach used is qualitative literature, with primary data sources from literature on religious moderation and fatwas by Muhammadiyah scholars regarding Covid-19, as well as related literature from the perspective of Islamic education neuroscience. Data was collected through manual and digital searches, analyzed, and constructed into a comprehensive new concept using content analysis methods that emphasize intertextuality and creative interpretation. The results show that developing a moderate religious attitude during the pandemic is crucial, especially for Muhammadiyah members who are required to follow scholars' fatwas to prevent new Covid-19 clusters. Adjustments in social activities and religious practices according to health protocols are also discussed, including cases of rejecting Covid-19 victims' burials in public cemeteries. This research provides practical guidelines for addressing spiritual and social challenges during the pandemic, based on the concept of Islamic religious moderation and fatwas by Muhammadiyah scholars relevant to neuroscience and the values of living Islam.
